Overall, I think blogging does impact journalism. While one such as a vanity blog does not do so directly, it does so indirectly by bringing awareness of blogging to more of the general public. Vanity bloggers also are able to mention a professional blog, thus increasing the audience of journalism blogging. An entrepreneurial blog is a bit weaker for one affecting journalistic blogging, as its purpose is to bring attention to the bloggers products and the use of those products, as well as information that would be useful to the customers. Informational blogging is probably the strongest. While it is not necessarily journalism, it attracts audiences that are willing to look around for information and would likely be interested in other blogs about similar subjects.
Blogging has a large number of uses, and it is something I personally enjoy. I think using it as a journalism tool is useful, and it opens avenues for 'citizen journalists' to have more of a voice.

Vanity and Informational blogs, Mod. 4
www.taxinfoblog.com - a blog about taxes. This blog answers questions about taxes, both general ones and ones specifically asked by followers. It also provides links to useful and pertinent information outside the website, and doubles as a business blog as well.
www.jasondunn.com - a personal blog about Jason Dunn's life. He posts videos and pictures about his life, where he's traveled, and currently about the development of his 9-month old son. (The last post was a video of assisting the boy to 'walk'.)
A good vanity blog would be one which viewers would feel engaged in the blogger's life. Followers must feel as if they actually know the blogger. A good informational blog would have very little focus on anything personal, would go into detail about the main topic, and would stay on topic.
Informational blogging definitely supports journalism-type blogging. A vanity blog, while enjoyable to read, only supports journalism blogging indirectly. Vanity blogs bring support and awareness of the blogging world to web users who may not be as aware of blogging, and can lead them to a journalism blog.
This strongly supports my thesis (5).

Mod. 3; E-zines vs Blogs
www.huffingtonpost.com - This e-zine included a variety of news from around the world, from events on China to humorous commentary on the President.
www.publicradio.org/columns/marketplace/mpblog/ - This blog talked about life in general for the writer, as well as events worldwide and how they could or currently are affecting people.
The e-zine felt more professional, but the blog brought the news to a personal level. Both felt equally credible. They both covered the same type of events, although the e-zine had more. A blog that is written professionally would have the level of credibility as any other news source. The bonus side of a blog is the personal touch of a single speaker to an audience, perhaps an audience they may know of personally. An e-zine or a traditional news source would have the advantage of multiple staff members to bring in more news.
This somewhat supports my thesis (4). A blog, written by a single person, can cover only a limited number of events, but it can bring another perspective on the events they do cover. While blogs are unlikely to replace the regular media, they do offer a chance to enhance on the news.

Question 2
http://www.deniseoberry.com/ - This blog gives "tips, tools and advice just for small businesses". It's written by Denise O'Berry, who works to help small businesses succeed.
seoworld.entrepreneur.com/ - discusses ways of using a blog to participate in social networking and advertise yourself.
http://www.networking.entrepreneur.com/ - discusses how to best use social media of various types, such as blogging, for one's business, and gives examples of different ways to network.
Besides blogging, an entrepreneur can use other online social media such as twitter and facebook. The advantage of blogging is it's use as a story-telling device - you can get on and talk as much or as little as you want about yourself and your product. Blogging is just as if not more effective than other types of social media because of that human interest aspect, which can attract more readers.
Thus far, I would give this research a four for supporting my thesis somewhat. There are many different types of social media, and although blogging reaches out to audiences in a slightly different way, it is still only one of many.

First Blog Post; For or Against
I agree with the position that blogging has significantly impacted the print journalism.
Blogging is now used by professional journalists and works as a check on the print journalism. It also has made it easier for any to act as a journalist, and reporting can occur from anywhere.
